Shutter Speed Assignment

We had to adjust our shutter speed and our f-stop and iso and all that (all of this is completely manual) to create two images:

1)Blur motion -the shutter speed is pretty long which means that the shutter is OPEN so you are capturing movement and letting lots of light in.

Pool Balls:
Critiques:
The pool stick is distracting.
I need to center it.
The exposure was perfect and the colors are great! (woop woop)

2.) Stop Action - FAST shutter speed, large f-stop. This is to catch, or freeze, something that is in motion. My shutter speed for this was 1/4000 which is 1/4000 of a second! SUPER FAST!

Balloon popping:
Critiques:
Background too light - which I knew when I took it and was mad that I caught the balloon in this one b/c you cant really see it.
Maybe should have been closer.
Exposure again was good!
Very fast!

So those are my first 2 things which I think I focused on the technical stuff too much, which I said and the class agreed. But I now know how to do it and I had fun doing it!

My next assignment is to play with the depth of field - and I will definitely concentrate on my composition more. I am not as nervous as I was since we got the first critique out of the way and I now know what to expect.
