Happy Cinco de Mayo

One night in Spain Carole, Chris and I went to Chupi Daniels after leaving a going away party for our italian friends Elizabeth and Manuela. While at the chupi, we went a Mexican guy named Pablo (I think) and he taught us how to take a tequilla shot. What?! You may be asking...well let me inform you. Apparently us americans do it all wrong. Pablo told us to start with the lime, then take the tequilla shot, but then to follow the shot with sangrita. Sangrita is a sweet, spicy and sour drink which is made from orange juice, tomato juice and hot chiles! Unfortunately the chupi did not have this sangrita he spoke of she we simply just ate the lime then took the shot - which was actually not bad at all!! He said this is the tradition way to take shot because it follows the colors of the Mexican flag...green, white, then red.

Also, did you know that cinco de mayo is not the celebration of Mexico's Independance? It's the celebration of the victory over the French at the battle of Puebla (or something like that ;) .
